Price collapse European cards
Thesis 1: End of season European leagues
The European leagues end at the end of May. The managers don't have an unlimited budget. They are now selling the European cards to invest more in the American and Asian markets so that they can continue to play in the S05 fantasy game in the summer. Sorare players are increasingly reacting with foresight.
Thesis 2: Imbalance of supply and demand
There are simply more cards than there is a need for. In addition, the scouting season didn't really work in the month of March. Grouping tickets by day and putting more tickets on the market has helped bring prices down. However, with new announcements (e.g. Premier League), this can quickly change again.
Comparison with last year (data from Sorare Portugal)
Last year, prices for European player tickets (limited tickets excluded) fell by over 40% in April and May. At that time, the bottom was reached in mid-May. In March this year, prices have fallen just under 20% so far.
Outlook
Relating last year's data to the current year is dangerous. Too many factors play a role: number of managers, newly introduced limited cards, current "scouting season", Sorare announcements, more forward-looking managers, etc. It is therefore difficult to venture a forecast.
